Southend Energy networking meeting 27/02 Thursday 19:00

Hello,as you might remember back in November and December 2013 we have meet up as a small group including representatives of Trust Links and Pure Leapfrog. Within only a few days we completed what I think was a great application to apply for a mentorship grant to enable to mentor a new Southend group in setting up community energy conservation and renewable energy generating projects.

Unfortunately or fortunately there is hunger in the communities across UK to start community energy projects, the competition was tough and we did not get the grant. Thanks to everyone who chipped in ideas and helped to write the application.

Nevertheless the conversations fired up mine and others imagination and with the upcoming CREST* conference I suggest we meet up again to regroup to move us towards greater energy resilience.

**Next meeting will be on the 27th Thursday from 19:00 at the Olde Trout Pub(opposite Sainsbury’s) upstairs. The usual Transition Drinks will take place downstairs but if you want to join our conversation please do.

Suggested agenda:

1)Mapping what is happening locally, regionally, nationally?

2)What could we create or support in Southend-on-Sea?

3)Next steps.

4)Confirmation of another networking meeting for Southend-on-Sea Energy after CREST conference 5th March Wed 18:00 at the Forum

Please forward this message to your networks and publish on Facebook and blogs to attract a variety of people. We need passionate people like you to take the idea forward towards realisation.

Please email me if you think you might be coming so I can gauge the numbers.Thanks.
