Wivenhoe Farmers Market – Saturday 15th July

Just a quick reminder to let you know that the next Wivenhoe Farmers’ Market is on Saturday 15th July.
This months market will be at the Congregational Hall in the High Street, CO7 9AB from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Refreshments will be available from the Transition Cafe run by Transition Town Wivenhoe with cakes and savoury items available from individual stallholders. Barbeque run by the Congregational Church in aid of the Foodbank.

Our stallholders for this market will be:

Dayman’s Hill Farm – Apples, pears, fruit juice
en-form – Local Honey As a customer service, we will be selling Local Honey from Knights Farm in Tendring.
Halsall Herbs – Plants & herbs
Keepers Nursery – Fresh Vegetables and eggs
Kay Sharpe – Jams and vintage furniture
King of Cups – Local Wine
, Mead
Norweigian Bakers – Bread, pastries and baked goods
Primrose Pork – All meats frozen Pork, Beef, Lamb, Chickens – sausages, meat pies, pork pies, bacon, cheese, ham, eggs
Vicky Albano – Cakes
Wildlight – Foraging products inc wild garlic, pesto
Willow Farm – Biodynamic pork, beef & eggs and Organic chicken

Working better together

What did you think of this idea, contribute to the discussion and work. I believe there is power and opportunities in local networks so having a joint platform would help develop these networks.


There’s an amazing range of grassroots projects operating in this area. They range from community gardens and skill share initiatives through to resident run and managed local parks and open spaces. All of them in their own way contribute to the project of building a more just, sane and sustainable world that could eventually replace the decaying, dystopian one we currently have to endure.

One of the ideas that motivated building and holding the Southend Radical Fair that took place on May 6th this year was to facilitate networking between the grassroots projects in the area. Obviously, there’s a level of networking that already does take place and a number of groups do co-operate with each other – if that didn’t happen, the Southend Radical Fair would never have got off the ground!

The thing is, if we’re being honest, we’re only scratching the surface when it comes to networking…
