702 Fest – Food Bank Benefit Show

Saturday 2 July 2016 at 18:00

In association with the local Trussell Trust food bank, Southend Food Bank.

We are doing something different with this. Entry to the show will cost you THREE or more (no less) items of tinned and packaged food that will be donated to Southend Food Bank.

A list of preferred items will be shared in this event nearer the time as I have been advised they have high stocks of certain things.

They have offered to have a representative at the show which we are hopeful will happen.

Info on the charity is here http://southend.foodbank.org.uk/

Thanks to all of the below bands to have agreed to play the show for free. Maybe we can all have a whip around at the end of the show to throw the 2 travelling bands some petrol money.

SEEOG Seed Potato Day

Potato Day makes potatoes a ‘must grow’ for local gardeners!

SEEOG’s Seed Potato Day
Saturday 27 February
10am – 2pm
Growing Together Westcliff, corner of Fairfax Drive and Prittlewell Chase, SS0 9AG

Free admission – refreshments available

Trust Links is delighted to be hosting again this year Seed Potato Day in conjunction with South East Essex Organic Gardeners on Saturday 27 February.

With approximately 40 varieties of seed potato, some organic, sold individually at 15p per tuber (same price as last year!), SE Essex Seed Potato Day gives local gardeners the chance to buy seed potatoes by the tuber, meaning anyone – from those with just enough space for a potato grow-bag, or an entire allotment plot – can get started on growing some spuds as soon as the weather improves!

There will also be Stuttgart Giant and Turbo onion sets for sale, plus organic fertiliser! Trust Links will also be selling the plants and vegetables raised in the Growing Together Garden. Refreshments will be available including jacket potatoes.

The event is free and runs from 10am until 2pm. Visitors should use the Prittlewell Chase entrance. Please check the SEEOG website for updates:

The Future of Southend Soup

11 February 2016 18:00-19:00 at The Railway Hotel.

A chance to chat about how Southend Soup could be even better. If more than about 10 people sign up, we’ll see if we can get the upstairs room.

We’ll be discussing:

1. What do you love about Soup – what have you most enjoyed about the events?
2. What could we do to go from great to greater?
3. What do you contribute to Soup, and what would you like to contribute?
4. Would soup benefit from a bank account, ‘committee’ and constitution?

If you can’t make the meet up, you can share your stories and views here:https://www.surveymonkey.com/summary/FlsgRWhh33h8ocWDYHyL96PwRYxcMYmxNDwV1QMx1qY_3D
